>>54309788>>54310286I find goldeen/seaking necessary so the pokemon universe has a standard basic fish pokemon in the same way it has a standard basic land pokemon(rattata) and a standard aerial bird(pidgey).
magikarp has too much of a gimmick(gyarados) to fit the role. but while rats bite and birds peck, basic fish don't really do anything you associate with combat so the horn gives it something to go from without taking away from its genericness
