The actual gameplay itself is pretty fun and you get to directly control and play as the mons themselves instead of simply telling them what to do.
Playing Tinkaon so I can run around and smash the enemy's heads in for like half their health is much more fun and satisfying for me than the mainline games where I'd simply be commanding her to do stuff.
