These games may be lacking in polish, but that doesn't mean NOTHING was done with them.
They did still make a whole new region with new characters, pokemon, moves, items, mechanics, etc. like all the other Pokemon games. And from what we've seen so far everything is well more than a step up from SM design and visual-wise. Even the stuff copied over from those games, which is really JUST the old pokemon models/animations, still look good baring some examples that were already bad to begin with and just didn't get adjusted.
The games aren't anything amazing, but they're certainly enough for me to spend $60 on.
