Never used the Chikorita line, it's pretty whatever for a starter, but I decided to give it natural gift to try and make things interesting since the mom in HGSS sends you berries fucking constantly and it's given me some interesting type coverage options. It just kind of sucks that it uses the berry though, having to reload my meganium after every fight is annoying.

I thought it would be a good idea to catch one with No Guard so I could obliterate everything with guaranteed dynamic punches later on in the game but so far all it's done for me is make sure every fucking hypnosis and stun spore lands on ME. Really regret not going for guts but I'm committing.

Nice that you can catch one relatively early in the remakes. Mine is super overleved though because its my only mon with a psychic move and thus singlehandedly sweeped literally every team rocket in mahogany town and the radio tower.
