The matches I saw looked like they were over as soon as the pairings were posted, with some of the most power crept bullshit I'd seen to date and somehow the people playing in grands still managed to fuck themselves multiple times in a game and still win.
Maybe it's better to play and I missed a high metagaming aspect somewhere, but I haven't sleeved up anything newer than the midway point in the Sun/Moon blocks when they started printing 5 alt foils for charizard in each set
