It's a brilliant way to make a fighting/flying type, since pro wrestling is a style that actually incorporates leaps and aerial attacks. And the whole "flare" thing is brilliant because birds are known to be extremely flashy, posing and dancing and showing off their colors. A bird luchador is just such a perfect fit.
Plus a massive bird might look silly, so wrestling is perfect for it since it uses the whole body and technique over raw strength. AND he whole Mexican thing links it to Aztec eagle knights, who wore colorful bird-like adornments.
Just fucking brilliant.
