At least other series gave Ash the satisfaction of overcoming the main rival he haven't defeated in battle, XY&Z denied even that!

XY did so many things wrong that its not funny. XY and XY&Z is by far the 2nd worst series after BW series.

The anime didn't peaked during XY&Z series, it did the opposite! XY&Z and BW series pretty much made a mockery out of Ash's character development and growth.

Ya No, XY was never considered the best series.
Only bunch of neets are obsessed with XY and XY&Z who are also into Isekai, idol anime and believe Hinata Hyuga to be most well written female character in anime.

Its like Dexit, they felt like a huge group that would boycott SWSH but turns out they are just 0.1% of total fanbase of pokemon. That's why XY and XY&Z feels so popular in Internet but it wasn't even popular than Youkai Watch.

At least people objectively agree that BW series sucked and doesn't tries to defend it. However they are some sycophants who consistently tries to establish XY and XY&Z as masterpiece despite it was poorly written failure of an anime.

The only ship that I truly supported was Advanceshipping but my ship sunk before any other ship with Ash.
Currently I am focus on characters that can introduce stories that I want to see in the anime and is actually possible in the anime. Mostly related to comedy or plot device to bring more challenge. Misty is just one such character due to her interesting personality and funny dynamic with people.

As for my reasons to dislike XY, there is an entire list for it.
