As far as I can tell, there are two possible scenarios here:
1. Gamefreak was too lazy to take the data out and didn't expect people to hack their way through.
2. Gamefreak knew dataminers would find the data and planned for this to spark speculation and keep people interested in the game which is why they left a bunch of data in.
I don't know how competent Gamefreak's workers are these days so I'm not sure. What do you think?
