Because just nerfing Cautious Coals is boring. Come up with new moves and abilities that relate to field hazards. New hazards, new ways to deal with hazards, etc. Moves, abilities, hold items. Go nuts.
Here's a few to start off
>Fairy Type status move that suspends all hazards and prevents new hazards being introduced temporarily (2-5 turns, turns left visible to all players like Perish Song's count). When it ends, the suspended hazards are reintroduced and hit every Pokemon on the field
>Misty weather condition; erases stat changes on switch in, prevents stats being changed because of switch ins. Doesn't disappear over time; has to be overwritten by another weather condition or removed.
IE Baton Pass does not keep stat changes on swapping and abilities like Intimidate do not work.
>Dark type status move "Table Turner". Swaps your hazards with the opponent's.
>Hold item 'Sturdy Umbrella'; prevents holder being affected by hazards/negative weather effects (ie fire type boost from sunny day is kept, but water power reduction isn't). Affects adjacent allies in double/triple/rotation battles.
