When I draw them now I draw the pokemon first, then I just stick on every single bit of maverick I can get away with until I reach an okay balance. Which is sometimes a giant pain in the ass (pic related), but leads to decent results.
If I redraw the X4 guys, I'll probably add more roboty bits to them too.
