My ideal circumstances in a Pokemon game are:
>static IVs on all Pokemon (never have to worry about IVs ever unless adjusting Hidden Power or if you want to decrease Foul Play damage)>EVs either non-existent, or freely adjustable anytime with zero time investment, like the teambuilder on Pokemon Showdown>decreased exp and/or level caps to discourage grinding past the point of the game that you are currently at (like Pokemon Clover)>Natures freely changeabletl;dr
I like the idea of Pokemon as a normal RPG without stat grinding. It's just more fun seeing a new Pokemon in a route, catching it and being able to use it right away, without having to breed it for IVs/EV train it/recapture it over and over for the right Nature, etc. Think of it as the way you played Pokemon as a kid before you knew EVs/IVs were a thing or what each Nature did.
