OP here. Thanks for the info. I took the advice and just started with the first in series and this shit is incredible. I ended up as Pikachu and I have a bulbasaur partner Chikapu and Sulsabaur; we are team spoon and we specialise in emotional support.
So far what's not to love; the comfy sprites, the dungeon trawling, the stylised buildings, wigglytuffs face, the amazing music and Pokémon personalities; OUR CHILD HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED. I love dungeon and strategy games; FFTA may be my favourite game of all time, so I'm eating this up.
Kicking myself for not playing these sooner but thanks for the push. I'll just play through the all in order.
