>>44755463It's relevant for the purposes of hack checking. I'm trying to determine how the game handles location data for traded eggs so I can inform the PKHeX devs to update their legality checker to properly handle Vivillon pattern/location mismatches. Currently injecting a foreign egg doesn't update the location data, which if game-accurate would mean that Vivillon can't legally have a pattern foreign to its 3DS region (which PKHeX's legality checker doesn't currently flag).
If PKHeX's functionality is incorrect and traded eggs do in fact adopt the receiver's location data, then Vivillon obtained from traded eggs can have any pattern/location combination (but Vivillon from the wild or non-traded eggs still have to match at least one location in the same 3DS region as the games are region-locked, so PKHeX is wrong in either case). Like I said, it's for science.
