Mega Charizard Y's stats are somewhat of a mix between Kyogre's and Volcarona's.
While the stat calculations aren't completely set in stone, Zard Y's Sp Atk is 140-160, which is approximately the same a Life Orb or Choice Specs Normal-zard would have. That said, it would still stand no chance against the likes of Terrakion or Blaziken sadly enough.
Edgyzard would become quite experimental in competitive play. It's now part dragon-type instead of flying-type. Stat-wise, it's a faster Bisharp (with some decent Sp. ATK - for those who want to benefit from STAB Dragon Pulse) and it has a lot of diverse moves to try out as a brawler.
Personally, I'd go for Droughtzard but that's for muh genwunner nostalgia (looks more like normal Charizard), but I fear it won't be a very used Mega Evolution Pokemon when we have game-breaking ones like Mega Lucario, Mega Blaziken, Mega Mewtwo X/Y and every Pokemon that was OP to begin with *Cough*Aerodactyl, Garchomp, Gengar, Tyranitar*Cough*.
