It's probably a bit of both, considering the A Team has moved on to other projects and are giving Pokemon to the B Team.

Reminder that PoGo sold better than Platinum. Reminder that Pokemon is the single biggest media franchise in existence right now, and The Pokemon Company is probably sitting on so much money that the next five games could be absolute bombs and they would be absolutely fine. Pokemon only gets bigger and bigger and bigger, even if quality goes down.
You need to understand Anon, you and countless other people care so much more about Pokemon than Game Freak does. You simply need to accept that and either move on, or not expect so much. The only other option aside from that is be mad on internet forums.
