I've gotten over 700k stardust so far this season (1.5m last season doing only Master League and the GO Battle Days, aka the first season I actually tried) and I've used the rank 19 ECTM to give my perfect lvl. 41 Reshiram Fusion Flare. While I feel significantly more mental pain every day, including a new variant of stress headaches that hurt a lot worse, it'll still be worth it once I'll no longer have to invite other people to any mega raids that'll ever come up in the future.
If you can put up with it, I'd recommend at the very least throwing in whatever you want and doing at least whatever amount of battles you need to do during GO Battle Days specifically. You'll get a ton of stardust just by getting at least one win per set, and the timed research that gives you an Elite Charge TM usually doesn't care if you win or loss, so it basically only costs your sanity. I've paid in my sanity, and I'd say it was mostly worth shaving three years off my life from stress.
