>>51383111The problem here is that Masuda once cared, he obviously doesn't anymore. Now if the former main franchise planner, the one who helped keep the series alive after the death of pokemania and the one who envisioned some of the most experimental mainline games before PL:A came around, turned into such a shitlord after some time, imagine what his cohorts, or anyone he puts in charge as his successor think about pokemon right now, how much do you think they care about the product they're putting out, Game Freak became one huge creative dead-end.
They don't need to try, there's no thrill or leaps to be made, the market is already theirs. Digimon on the other hand has been in limbo for a very long time, switching design philosophies from time to time out of necessity, their franchise seems to be finding new footing after changing producers, that new guy from Pripara is an experienced fella after all, pokemon does not have the same networking privileges akin to a enormous company like Bandai so any successor to Masuda will share his retardation, Digimon had a lot to prove and now it seems to have a newfound future, something pokemon now does not.
