>>44804899>What is your opinion on talking Pokemon in the series?Overall, I like them. I dislike how they are handled though. Pokemon talking should be much more common place, simply because Meowth a regular non-special Meowth learned how to do so, just because it wanted too. To me it 100% impossible to assume that no researcher, teacher, or speech therapist figured out that Pokemon can learn how to talk, so it should really be more common.
>What if all Pokemon could talk? From what it seems like, all Pokemon can learn how to talk, if Meowth a Pokemon that lore wise doesn't mention having higher/human level intelligence learned how to, any Pokemon can considering their levels of intelligence. This would be a massive change to the world however, to have every single Pokemon talking.
>What do you think about it from a lore perspective?Lore wise, this shows us that Pokemon are way smarter than we give them credit for most of the time. It shows us that Pokemon do have complex social structures, full cognizant awareness, and can display all the human level emotions. It would basically lead to Humans treating Pokemon a little less like pets and I don't think people with trainer licenses would be able to "Own" a Pokemon after displaying this.
I think the best part of this would be all the Lore that would finally be expelled. Humans can just talk with Pokemon and fully gather information on their communities and worlds, Pokemon in the universe would become so much better defined and understood.
>Should only some Pokemon talk or none, and for those that can, is it OK for the whole species to, or just a select special case? 95% of pokemon should be able to learn how to talk in some measure. The 5% that can't are the ones who lore wise are mentally weak like Clobbopus.
