Did any regions ever feel unsettling or 'off' to you? I started with Platinum and when I got around to playing the Kanto games (both the originals and FRLG), Kanto always felt a little dreary in comparison. Mewtwo was genetically engineered, the places and Pokemon were reasonably more down to earth, Team Rocket was far more gritty and less grand than teams like Galactic, and the Pokemon Tower came off as a lot eerier to me than sentimental as other graveyards in the series did. I'm sure it's just because the series wasn't as fleshed out back then and while still for kids some of the dialogue wouldn't be kid-friendly today ('This gym is great! There's lots of women!'), but Kanto has always felt more cynical to me, even with the baby-fying of it with LGPE. Does anyone feel similar towards another region/game?
