I have won the tournament 5 times now and the game has made no mention of stopping playing for money like all the players used to when preventing you from farming them after 5 wins. This means you have effectively infinite purchasable items if you don't take Giratina in your party as profiting in the tournament is trivial if you can beat Suit 3 times in a row.
