so this game gives you details about the gym leader's ace, their special move, how the terrain benefits them, and what possible Pokemon you can use for counters - unfortunately what it DIDN'T tell me is that Emotionless Keta is fought in a double battle. battle as a result was awful
>Turn 1
I send out Hecate the Lunatone and Felix the Solrock, he sends out Hariyama and Breloom. Expect Breloom to have Seed Bomb or something so I double on it, Hariyama hits Lunatone with Fake Out, Solrock one shots Breloom with Zen Headbutt.
>Turn 2
Next up is the ace, shiny Lucario. It smacks Felix with a Bullet Punch, who one shots in return with Flare Blitz, but that brings it into red. Hecate brings Hariyama to under half with Psyshock. UNFORTUNATELY, the AI decided to double on Felix, killing him, fucking hell
>Turn 3
Hitmontop is out next, I send in Freya. Air Cutter gets a 1.5x boost in Keta's field, so I murder Hitmontop in a single hit with it, but not before it knocks Hecate into low yellow with Bullet Punch, then I kill off the weak Hariyama with Hecate.
>Turn 4
Next up is Throh and Pignite, last mons. I don't see myself beating Throh in one turn without Pignite killing something, so I swap out Hecate and Freya for Hoggmeister and Angela. Unfortunately they double on Hoggmeister with Rock Tomb and Fire Punch, but he hangs on with a sliver.
>Turn 5
I have to choose a sack here - I pick Hoggmeister, Hecate I think will just be better long-run compared to Grumpig, so I heal Freya and let them kill my pig ;(. Angela doesn't give a fuck about anything they can do thankfully and poisons them
>end of battle
I send in Crono to clean up Pignite, then swap to Freya to murderfuck Throh with Air Cutter, Angela just spams Venoshock to help out.
Definitely sucks to lose 2 mons, felt I could have avoided this had I known it was doubles prior, but oh fucking well. Next up is Madelis, Shadow Mewtwo (who I will probably try and beat, but I doubt I can, not required tho) and Revenant Keta
