>>47527162>>47527386Aside from the fact that pretty much everything in the stories of fairy tales can be referred to or called a "fairy" (from Witches and Hermits to monsters like Grendel, even Goblins), yes, she does have things very specifically fairy about her.
The behavior she exhibits, the lonely recluse in the woods and being worshipped as an old god, that's fairy right there (fae used to be worshipped and revered/feared before they were demonized by Christianity)
Her habit of mauling anyone who breaks her rules she expects everyone else to follow without always making it clear what those rules are, that's very fucking fairy
Her status as a Fairy who is also a Witch AND a Princess is basically Morgan Le Fay from the Arthur Myths, who she shares lots of traits with (and her G-Max form, besides the Rapunzel Fairy Tale, also has traits of The Morrigan)
Even her design highlights this with her color palette, pastels are often used for fairies because it makes them seem otherworldly and weird and helps to sell the surreal, dreamlike vibe their domain is known for.
>The doll like spritely true form hiding beneath the hair resembles many classic depictions of witches, even down to the skin tone and eyesChanging "fair folk" to "witches" makes no fucking sense here because NO Witches are presented this way. It's completely disingenuous. Meanwhile Hatt's true form does indeed resemble many depictions of more evil or antagonistic fairies and sprites (whitish-grey skin, black eyes, etc), and magical hair is a theme both groups have had examples of. It's more associated with Wizards and Witches, yes. But Fae have had such things as well.
When I say "Fae Witch" I say "A Fairy who is also a Witch" because the two aren't mutually exclusive like you seem to think. The fairy typing is part of what gives Hatterene her otherworldly identity. It's where the majority of her behavior and personality comes from and her design is a perfect blend of fairy, witch, and princess.
