I see a lot of people complain about how easy the games are, especially the newer ones. Why aren't challenge runs more popular? I play a lot of Dark Souls and one of the most enjoyable aspects of that game was trying out ridiculous builds and seeing if I could get by with them instead of playing the game the easiest way. Why not do shit like:
>Nuzlockes
>monotype runs
>BST limits
>NFE only runs
>limits on how many levels you can use a Pokémon
>forcing yourself to use 12+ Pokémon rotating teams
>no healing items/Pokecenter runs
I feel like there's a lot of fertile ground for challenge runs but beyond Nuzlockes and monotype runs I don't ever see people talk about ways to make the game more challenging other than whining about how there should be a "Hard Mode".
