Why didn't they release Green in the west?
I know they used JP Blue's graphics for both Red and Blue in the international versions, with Blue having JP Green's version exclusives (since JP Blue had a mix of JP Red and JP Green exclusives).
But why not release all three versions in the west at the same time, all three with JP Blue's improved graphics? They could had even made more money from collection autists. Plus it's more aesthetically pleasing to have games with all three starters.
Did they just think they wouldn't be able to pull that off successfully here despite Pokémon already being huge in Japan at the time?
