>>53205331Nintendo have no sway, you little shithead, due to how the thing got birthed. They were hands-off as they didn't want to waste time training Game Freak to make a game, beyond seconding Miyamoto to them, to advise as soft producer. RG launched, took off and Nintendo pushed for the next game in 1997. And waited. And waited. Then Nintendo sent in Iwata to unfuck the process and had to wait a further year and a half. Nintendo learned early to not push Game Freak, because they made potted gold anyway, harebrained and scattered as their dev cycles were. Ever since, barring the aberration that was Gen 4's wi-fi connectivity issues and the delay from '05 to '06, they launch every three years. As that gives GF enough time to prep and bake a new Gen, while spitting out rehashes/remakes to carry the two other years generally.
And Game Freak own TPC as much as Nintendo. Can YOU order your dad around? Because TPC telling Game Freak to do something is the exact same (and we know GF don't fucking listen to TPC, else we'd have gotten Mega Greninja instead of asspull, as TPC wanted to shill megaforg).
>>53205345But you are, because I have two major afflictions - I understand how the brand is split up and operates and I'm not mid-20's and suffering a crisis of identity watching MY toy abandon me for new kids. The answer is this fantasy you're wishing for was never going to happen, due to the fact the rights holders aren't literal fucking manchildren reeing over their lost youth. they were going to play this out as it happened, as there was STILL kids growing up, STILL kids to make money off and STILL adults on top who accepted the fate of the brand and continued to play and enjoy the games anyway. You're asking for a fantasy land, because you're asking for a complete and utter shift in the mindset of the entire world exposed to Nintendo products. One kid wants to wait a year for Pokémon, 8 million kids want to play a game featuring the funny yellow mouse. Who's worth it?
