If nothing else, "Can't Escape" has burned a desire into my soul for never allowing myself to dehumanize or degrade others, even my enemies... and I still cringe to this day if I audibly hear someone call someone else a "little shit." It ain't a happy story, and maybe it's a legacy some authors wouldn't want, but it's a raw and touching tale and it helps to prompt me to be good to others, at times.
