Of course, since this is GameFreak we're talking about, Gen 9's region will be largely made up of wilderness. Which means that, to justify that decision, the country they base it upon will also have to be largely made up of wilderness, with a very small overall person to land ratio.
Which is why I think it will be PokéAustralia. Give me my fucking platypus Pokémon already GameFreak, you literally don't even have to change anything about it's design, it's already a bloody Pokémon just put it in your fucking game!
