alright so I was thinking about legendary trio concepts and it dawned to me that instead of a visual motif linking all of them together, why not a conceptual motif? the theme for these three seemingly unrelated pokemon is sightings and Australian myth
the first is a take on the Burrunjo, a t-rex-like creature said to roam the outback, eating cattle and large mammals as it went, dissapearing without a trace in the vastness. the second is a take on the Bunyip, a swamp dwelling creature that thrives off of the terror of the aboriginals and teleports from waterhole to waterhole to follow tribes. the third and final drawing is a take on the Yowie, the Australian relative of the sasquatch, native to the forests and mountainscapes therein.
the fairy typing is used to associate them with the Mimi, a species of fairy in aboriginal folklore that occupies a universe parallel to our own, but cross over to bring blessings or play tricks. these legends, therefore, are natives to the realm of the Mimi and possess the same powers, albeit housing different intentions. while containable in the other realm by the Mimi (hence their weakness to fairy despire being fairies themselves), they can do as they please in our world because they act unchecked.
the designs themselves might be horrible
I'm kinda tipsy everything looks awesome to me right now but that might not be the case?? but I feel confident in the idea totally
