Sprites are almost always better than models as far as this series is concerned but occasionally you get a game that does a pokemon a disservice. Lugia's HGSS sprite is atrocious. It looks too distant, unfocused, with a tiny and unimposing head that makes it look more like a mid-stage evo than a legendary pokemon. It's not even facing your pokemon, it's like a random bird that got scared by a stick getting thrown at it or something, atrocious, even the animation looks like it's desperately flapping its fins to stay airborne. Meanwhile, the DPP sprite is excellent. It's encroaching on your space, it's facing your pokemon, it's posed in a way to make it look as immense and imposing as it really is and the animation just amplifies that, making it look as if it's creating extremely powerful gales in your direction.
Post some other underwhelming sprites, or even models. Bonus points if they're from later generations.
