>>55639034Well since it's a direct sequel that reused a lot of stuff from locations and characters to entire plot points they tend to get lumped together in discussion. It also had lower sales so fewer people played it when it was new and everyone these days seems to just watch video essays on old games instead of playing them to form their own opinions, so there's less to discuss with fewer people to have those discussions.
Pretty much all there is to say boils down to:
>shadow pokemon are more viable>purification is much easierThese two upgrades are at odds with each other. Most people throw together a team early on and never swap out to experiment with the fun stuff other shadow pokemon can do since they don't have to use them or abuse a glitch to purify them. Also half the pokemon are caught in the last area.
>atmospheric/tonal downgradeYou're back to being just some kid, the game starts off at a lower level so there's more of a grind before you start getting fun movesets.
>graphicsBetter human models and fixed/upgraded a few minor things like jumpluff having square shadows and slightly more detailed environment textures.
>characters are mostly either reused, forgettable, or bothLovrina's pretty popular but nobody else really caught on outside of die-hard Orre fans. Everyone still loves Mirror B but his new battle theme is a bit divisive since it's less unique than the original but still really great.
>locationsGateon port is the only new town, pokespots are only good for trade fodder, everything else they added is just another lab of some kind or the ship in the desert you have no reason to revisit. Didn't really change or expand the reused areas outside of Pyrite building getting a shiny new remodel, and the Under was probably the most visually distinct location in the entire series at that point so axing it was a huge disappointment.
>minigamesBattle bingo and the simulator are great, but there's not much incentive to really dig into them.
