TONS of people hated Incineroar and Primarina while picking Decidueye solely because they hated the other 2 that much.
For a while it was actually the least popular of the 3 while Incineroar and Primarina only gained more popularity.
It only got high on the PotY poll because the Gen 7 hype is long over and most Incineroar/Primarina either don't give a fuck anymore or found new faves. Meanwhile Owlcucks still reside inside their little echo chambers using the poll to seek some kind of validation when it's far too late for them now.
