Duel Links was a lot of fun in the beginning, and it was quite easy to make "good" decks by focusing on archetypes that came bundled with miniboxes or just slapping a couple staple backrow cards in your janky deck. It was still quite accesible by the first year anniversary, but afterwards it became a money/time sink if you wanted to be even slightly competitive. Not even casual games or absolute shit rank is safe, since matchmaking is littered by jaded fags that will crash at you with the most absurdly busted solitaire netdecks.
If anything, LoR seems to me as if they took the best aspects of many CCGs, what with the amount of good vanilla cards in every deck (Hearthstone), all the free shit they give you with their in-game progression system (Shadowverse), and somewhat better mechanics both SV and HS.
