Hey, remember when I said I was planning a peach-inspired, Grass/Psychic Cherubi regional form to serve as my region's mascot? And how I said I'd do a shitty doodle of it? I feel like I had something going with Cherubi but I struggled to make Cherrim distinctive enough, aside from the stamen antennae. Turns out peach flowers aren't that different from cherry flowers.
As for lore, my idea was that the weather from this region (tentatively named Meloko, forgot to mention that before) causes Cherubi to grow bigger than usual and prematurely assimilate its vestigial head, which unlocks the psychic potential in its brain. Again, I'm still coming up with ideas for Cherrim, but I went as far as to think of an ability for it: the inverse of Flower Gift, where it gets a Sp Atk and Def boost from psychic terrain rather than sunlight.
Honestly the more I look at this the worse it gets but I'll let you all be the judge of that.
Side note, I'm starting to wonder if coming up with a completely new region is too big a project for it to be my first writing exercise in here, but I figure at this stage I might as well commit to it (it's not that I have never written anything, I just have never written anything Pokemon-flavored).
