Gardevoir appears humanoid, yes, but the level of appreciation you can have for a waifu is not limited only to your ability to appreciate their bodies- there is no linear progression in which Lopunny is a more difficult waifu than Gardevoir, Nidoqueen a note difficult waifu than Lopunny, and Exeggcute a more advanced waifu than Nidoqueen.
Look instead at the ways in which people appreciate these waifus. Imagine if you could not have sex with a Lopunny. What does she offer to a relationship instead? What complexity is their in her behaviors? How does she fit into the world? These are all things that Gardevoir has in spades.
