If you have RBG plugged in, he has a team to reflect each starter you chosen.
If you have Yellow, then he his three teams are dependent on which Eeveelution his evolves to (even if there would be overlap, his team changes, as he'll have Dodrio if he has Blastoise, but Sandslah if he has Vaporeon).
He also has a completely original team if you don't have any game plugged in.
