But desu it's not always consistent or clear whether Sapphire or even Ruby are socially aware of their situation in a scene, sometimes it just comes down to whatever's more convenient for Kusaka at the time. Though Ruby's meant to be mysterious anyway since he's faking obliviousness half the time, pretending to be stupid so he can get his way. Meanwhile you have RS Sapphire simultaneously getting embarrassed about Ruby measuring her while she was asleep but also not seeing why running around in leaves would freak people out, and she also doesn't know what a Pokemon Center is somehow.
