I've thought about this for a while, I think I would go with average sized Pumpkaboo since I could see me trying to befriend one that would have wildly grown in my back yard, I would probably never evolve it and consider it more as a companion then a fighting team mate.
That being said though, for a fighting Shouldermon that could do some damage, I might go with Mankey.
