I remember back when PokeAus was a thing (lmao) and I submitted an idea for a blue tongued skink Pokémon. The idea was that the blue tongue is actually a spooky ghost and the real Pokémon that comes out of the fake lizard mouth. He’d be Ghost/Water and basically be a blue lizard whose tail is the connected to the tongue of the fake normal lizard. When he’s resting he returns back inside the fake lizard but he can’t move around in it or anything, since it is a highly specialised tail tip evolved over millions of years for use as an ambush tool or to hide in, not an actual lizard.
