The same thing was happening, in reverse, when i used to shill crypto shitcoins from telegram on 4chan. You can set up codes to execute certain actions whenever some people reach a page by clicking a link from a certain site.
I think the issue can just be solved by pasting the showdown links on this site:
https://dereferer.me/ . It's a site that removes the "referrer" from the link, so the system can't detect that and execute the action. Not sure if you tried it already but might be worth to give it a try.
