Huh... I generally thought the scene with cynthia was setting up a time travel plot/joke with lyra. It still could be, but after her telling lyra "Your outfit is the exact same as the one worn by a person hundreds of years ago" I was legit expecting a joke about a timeloop happening.
By "joke" I mean like... a later dialogue would have her mention that she's done some time traveling with celebi and visited johto's past and yet no one would notice that would mean she was the person of legend etc...
