Why doesn't the franchise have any good manga that explore the Pokemon world further? It'd be cool to see more original stories set in other parts of the Pokemon world that aren't just loose adaptations of the game plots. And it would have to be manga since we're obviously not going to get any anime that isn't Ash and friends.
But we haven't really gotten anything like that. Almost all the manga are adaptations/ads for the games, a couple that are loose adaptations of the anime, and a few TCG ads. The closest that exists to what I'm talking about are Magical Journey, Phantom Thief 7, and ReBurst. The first is a comedic shojo manga where some of the Pokemon straight up talk, the second is short and forgotten, and the third is complete garbage that nobody cares about and probably wasn't even originally a Pokemon manga.
We don't even have much of anything like this from spin-off games. Colosseum/XD is like what I'm talking about, and Ranger and maybe Pokken kind of are. But we'll probably never get any more of those former two, and Pokken doesn't seriously care that much about plot and setting.
