I'm currently using a German ditto, so utilizing the masuda method, you could be the owner of an awesome or, chances be, a horrible shiny pokemon.Shininess is determined by your SID, and SIDs are reassigned after hatching. If someone did get a shiny egg it would appear to hatch shiny and then immediately become non-shiny unless they also happened to have the right SID. The only way to keep it shiny would be to have them reset and trade the egg back to you so you could hatch it on your own game.
