Remember, a pokemon with Mega can't have regionals, and G.Slowbro appears, a starter will never have a regional, and Hisui starters appear, a pokemon with Gigantamax can't evolve and Duralodon's evolution appears (Pikachu, Eevee, Meowth weren't counted as they were considered mascots of the franchise), none of the bears can evolve anymore because they form a trio and Ursaluna appears, as I said, these are unwritten rules by the community, in search of a certain balance ....or worse, patterns that only exist in your head.
My point is that a Pokemon has a gimmick doesn't prevent them from being given more in the future.
