Don't know if you're memeing or not but Gen 5 was the first generation who really prioritized trainers outside of ~2 or 3 like in the previous gens. While Gen 1 had Blue, Oak and Giovanni, Gen 5 has literally every gym leader getting some kind of extra development and place in the world, like Skyla and Elesa being best friends, Clay having multiple things going that affect the world like running Twist Mountain and the PWT, all of them actually fucking helping deal with Plasma instead of sitting around, ect. And then you compound on this with BW2's timeskip and the characters develop further, like Iris' rise to Champion, Cheren becoming a gym leader, the Straiton twins getting blown the fuck out by the Shadow Triad, and so on. This culminates into a generation where the human characters are just as notable as the Pokemon which seldom happened in previous games (name something interesting about Brawly, Winona or Bugsy). It's also the first game where the MC has a legit character arc (after Red) with Hilda/Hilbert taking off to look for N.
With all that at some of the one off ones like the Subway Masters being exponentially more popular than other gen characters combined and it makes sense Gen 5's trainers would be getting special treatment.
When N gets in Masters it's going to be a big event. When Champion Iris gets in Masters it's going to be another huge event. Twitter is going to melt down with Ingo and Emmet are added in. Gen 5 is gonna run this shit
