Saw discussion about it, so I'll just send out a reminder to everyone:
The most important Rocket encounters right now are Shadow Mewtwo, Shadow Shinx, Shadow Machop, Shadow Makuhita, Shadow Ralts, Shadow Dratini, Shadow Golett and more importantly, Shadow Swinub.
>Shadow Mewtwo: Best psychic-type DPS in the game, with or without Psystrike. Not very useful overall unless you don't have good counters for each type, but good to have regardless. Also, if all you care about is soloing Mega Blaziken, this is the mon for the job.
>Shadow Shinx: A poor man's Shadow Electivire. Technically you can still get Shadow Electabuzz and if you can nab a good one, good, but if you can't, you won't be losing too much with Shadow Luxray by your side.
>Shadow Machop: Hopefully you already have a few good ones, but if you don't have one, or you want a shiny one, this is the best non-legendary, non-pseudolegendary attacker in the game.
>Shadow Makuhita: Yes, Shadow Hariyama is worse than Shadow Machamp, but not by a relevant enough amount unless you're trying to solo Mega Tyranitar on a shoestring budget. At the very least, it's good if you don't have a ton of Machop candy/candy XL.
>Shadow Ralts/Snubbull: At best, Shadow Gardevoir is the best fairy-type by a mile (Shadow Granbull is good too, but not by as much. I've invested in a couple.). At worst, you can purify a good one for a cheap Mega Gardevoir/Gallade to power up.
>Shadow Dratini: It and Shadow Salamence I'd argue aren't very worth it unless you really want to go all the way for the bragging rights of soloing Mega Ampharos or Mega Charizard X, but if your local playgroup is lacking good dragons (or dragons in general), it might be the difference between being able to trio Reshiram, Zekrom, Palkia, etc., or not.
>Shadow Golett: Now the best ground attacker in the game, which matters a lot if you want the Mega Manectric solo before they release Shadow Groudon, Precipice Blades, give Earth Power to Ursaluna, etc.
