Sync grids setup specifically for the battle and any Lv.3 gear at max help a lot.
Beat them to the sync punches and hit as hard as you can as much as possible. Trapping and poison/burn helps too. Causing flinching is great.

My three teams used were:
Nemona, Volkner/Luxray, Victor/Spectrier (or Silver/Ho-oh; don't remember)
Nemona, Victor/Spectrier, Courtney/Camerupt (for mission 18)
Nemona, Lucy/Seviper, Courtney/Camerupt (for mission 17. I struggled a lot though)
