In reality Masuda is just out of touch and the rest of Game Freak is mostly at his whim as board member/managing director/producer/director and the majority probably don't like pumping out shit any more than we want them to.
The fact that Masuda admitted they're not all on board with his nonsense tells me within the decade we'll likely see a spiritual successor after the main older staff leave and start their own company together. Ideally with Morimoto/Unno at the helm and Sugi in charge of art (though I kind of suspect he'll stick to Waifusters so Ohmura will work too).
It'll never capture the same success or hit all of the same notes but I'm totally onboard for it happening. I just want more Pokémon achieving the greatness it was heading towards until Gen 5 hit but just like I'm already doing, I'll take good games instead.
Honestly, continue dexplaining if you are but if you really want better for all of us, you should also make sure those at Game Freak you have enjoyed the work of know you'll support them if they tell Masuda and Aishillhada to shove it. Let them know it's okay to leave Game Freak and make good games since the higher ups there refuse to let them.
