I've found from my experiance that the most creative people tend to be classified into certain personalities disorders. Not that i'm saying "every artist is crazy" i've found a lot of artists are self loathing (myself included) but that only seems to fuel the fire to improve. i've only been doing this for like what, 5 threads? but from what i've seen you post i really like.
>>13164709like this. i mentioned a while back that i can't do lineless paintings and it pisses me off. i rely on lines to convey weight and shape and you can make that beautiful background digitally. i've been working digitally for 10 years and i don't think i could be that free with my style.
growing up my dad used to yell at me for drawing "mean looking people with pointy things in their ears." my first feature in the newspaper i made sure to have that quoted. Because i make my fucking money of that shit now.
its not a waste of time, don't give up and don't get down on yourself. Mike mignola? Hellboy dude? He told me that when you're getting critiqued to remember to take what someone says into consideration, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to take their opinion to heart. Art teachers look for x y and z and sometimes miss real potential. See every portfolio review i ever had.
keep going bro. and don't get down on yourself. You're not a waste of nothing.
>>pic related because its a piece i really love that did not receive the best "reviews". But i fucking wanted to draw it. so i did.
