If they're pulling shitty stunts that confuse, upset and alienate their audience, they should be criticized.
Gamefreak and Nintendo are not your friends. They are corporations, and their end goal is to make money. You won't get any special treatment for standing up for them on the bowels of 4chan. And if I'm a long-time fan that has bought their product, I have every damn right to criticize.
