Digimon have the creative freedom to be whatever they want. They don't live in nature so the only purpose for evolving is to become stronger by any means necessary. That's why a lot of Mega level Digimon are just humans with weapons.
But you've never played Digimon, so you have no idea what you're talking about to begin with.
